Logo Creation, Branding, Visual Design

The Washtenaw ID Project's goal is to produce and distribute a photo ID card that has broad appeal and value for all Washtenaw County residents, is accessible to traditionally marginalized populations, particularly those unable to access State of Michigan ID, is reliable, deemed valid, secure from fraud, and widely accepted by area businesses, banks, service providers and law enforcement.

The goal of the Washtenaw ID logo workshop was to create a new logo that could be used for different marketing resources, ids, posters and other materials.

What does the logo convey?

  • "ACCESS/PERMISSION" - Having ID is crucial to community access.
  • "COMMUNITY" - Being recognized as an equal person in the community is a human right.
  • "ACCEPTANCE" - Having ID instills a sense of belonging and conveys acceptance.
  • "COMMUNITY" - No one should have to live in the shadows of the community where they live.
